My name is Joselito Flores Castillo. I am a Queer Curandero.
Everything in my life has been moving me towards healing work.
About 30 years ago, I was visited by my abuelita, Manuela Garza Flores, who had just passed away. She left me with a beautiful message for my mother and a reminder of where I came from. At that time, I was still struggling to reconcile my gayness with my religious Mormon upbringing. My abuelita's message of acceptance and encouragement freed me to begin exploring my spirituality and connect with my ancestors without shame.
My abuelito, Eliseo Flores, was an incredible curandero in Texas, and I grew up watching people come to their house for healings. When I made that connection everything fell into place. I started remembering the things he taught me as a child, things like how to be still, how to connect with the earth, and, most importantly, how to trust myself. I began creating and recreating ceremonies and rituals. It all came naturally to me. I reconnected with distant relatives, and received many beautiful stories and spiritual healing recipes.
I owned a dance studio for 19 years and many of my students would often tell me that my choreography and movement was very healing. I realized that I had been healing through movement and dance as well. In 2018, I received my certification for life coaching.
I now practice curismo for my queer community and would love to work with you.
My sessions are tailored to each individual. I offer spiritual mentoring and guidance in facing all levels of emotional problems or obstacles such as loss of loved ones, divorce, ancestral traumas, low self esteem, and deep emotional wounds. We'll work from the inside out to help break old patterns and behaviors that no longer serve us. Some of my tools are Barajas, Tarot Cards, Cartas de la Loteria, crystals, stones, essential oils, herbs, teas, pomadas(ointments), and aguitas(blessed waters).
